Reflecting on Courage in Action at BINA 2024

We recently partnered with the British Indian Nurses Association (BINA) to speak to over 400 clinicians at their annual conference delivering a session, "The Courage to Speak Up," led by our MD, Bethan Davies.

This session, part of our Braver than Before® programme, explored the challenges NHS staff face in “Speaking Up” and offered practical strategies to help healthcare professionals:

✔️ Navigate difficult conversations with confidence.
✔️ Challenge the status quo in a constructive, courageous and compassionate way.
✔️ Build a culture of psychological safety where all voices are heard.

The session sparked deep reflection and powerful conversations about the barriers to openness in the NHS, including fears of judgment, rejection, or retaliation. We were reminded of the immense bravery it takes to lead with integrity and the tools needed to foster real change.

At The Bravest Path, we believe courage isn’t just about taking bold risks - it’s about showing up authentically, whether it’s advocating for patient safety, setting boundaries, or supporting team members. Through our Braver than Before® programme, we deliver tailored workshops across the NHS to help professionals grow into more confident, empathetic, and courageous leaders.

For those who attended, we hope you left inspired to act with clarity and courage. If you’d like to bring "The Courage to Speak Up" to your organisation or explore our leadership programmes, we’d love to hear from you.

Together, let’s create workplaces where bravery becomes a habit, and every voice is valued.
